QEC AWCI
Overview
The Quality Enhancement Cell in an institute is an integral component dedicated to the improvement of the educational and academic standards. It aims to ensure the quality of higher education meets the requirements and expectations of the stakeholders by monitoring, evaluating and enhancing academic and related activities.
QEC AWCI plays a vital role in maintaining the momentum of quality consciousness as per HEC guidelines and policies. QEC also focuses on promoting the culture of continuous quality assurance, instilling best practices, strengthening the internal quality mechanism and providing guidance for Self-Assessment and audit processes. The main objective is to meet the challenges of higher education at national and international level, in academic programs and research quality.
Mission
To develop standardized quality assurance mechanism for academic program(s) offered at AWCI at par with national and international best practices, through continuous quality improvement.
Vision
To achieve excellence in academics and program delivery and ensure evaluative measures for enhanced output ensuring transparency.
Objectives
- Ensure the high standards and continuous improvement of academic programs, research and educational processes at AWCI.
- Ensure consistency and improvement in the quality assurance processes being used at AWCI.
- Enhance and improve academic practices at AWCI through periodic program reviews.
- Ensure compliance to the rules and regulations of HEC.
Function Of QEC
- To create awareness and implement quality criteria
- To facilitate departments in preparation of SAR and related documents
- To conduct internal assessment reviews for SAR
- To implement Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) standards and prepare University Portfolio Report (UPR) for Assessment Review
- To implement plagiarism policy and create awareness amongst faculty
- To implement HEC criteria for BS, M Phil, MS/PhD Programs and conducts reviews
- To implement the criteria for appointment of faculty and continuous evaluation of their performance
- To review quality standards and quality of teaching, learning and research in all program offered
- To collect data for ranking and provide it to HEC or any other external body
- To conduct student feedback on teachers and curriculum evaluation through designed survey form for quality enhancement, Learning, teaching and research
- To conduct academic audits of all departments and programs to ensure implementation of university approved curriculum and policies
- To compile data for QEC activities as per HEC requirement and provide it to QAA in first week of July every year
